Description

77 and 78 Westgate are late 18th-century buildings that originally served as two separate properties. They stand three storeys tall and feature a pantile roof and brick construction. The right-hand section has a wooden eaves cornice and two windows with stone flat arches above them. The left-hand section also has a wooden eaves cornice and contains four windows, with alternate windows set in recesses. There is a carriage archway on the left side, and the ground floor has been modernized with shops. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos. 42 to 55, 80 to 84, and No. 86.
