Description

Green's Stores is an early 18th-century house, extended in the mid-19th century, and now used as a shop. The building is constructed of brick with a pantile roof, featuring a single gable and ridge stacks. One gable has an ashlar coping with kneelers. The facade is distinguished by first and second-floor bands and dentilated eaves. It originally comprised two bays and two storeys, with a single-storey, slate-hipped roofed shop extension added to the south in the mid-19th century. The ground floor on the original section has a single, slender glazing bar sash window to the right, with a wooden lintel. To the left, a mid-19th century shop front spans the original house and extension. This shop front is three bays wide, with a pilaster and entablature surround, and features two large windows alongside a pair of half-glazed double doors positioned off-centre. Above the shop front, the original section retains a single glazing bar sash window under a wooden lintel, while to the right is a 20th-century casement window.
