Description

The Grange is a late 17th-century house, altered in the mid-18th century and 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a pantiled roof surmounted by two gable and a single ridge yellow brick stacks. The house has a U-shaped plan. The front is three bays wide, with a moulded brick eaves course. A central glazed double door is flanked by single sash windows. The first floor has three plain sash windows. All openings feature plain ashlar lintels and reveals. Three flat-roofed dormers with two-light casements and leaded cheeks are set into the roof. The interior retains 18th-century raised and fielded panelling, shutters, and broad architraves, as well as a late 18th-century stick baluster dog leg staircase. A staggered butt purlin roof completes the structure.
