Description

The Chaplin Arms is a mid-19th century public house located on Canwick Road, Lincoln. Constructed of gault brick with stone and stucco dressings, it features a slate roof with two external gable stacks and two side wall stacks. The building is designed in the Tudor Revival style, with coped gables, kneelers, and finials. It is arranged as a two-storey, two-bay structure with a double range plan. A projecting gabled centre features a 4-centred arched doorway sheltered by a gabled wooden canopy with bargeboards. To either side of the doorway are single mullioned sash windows with hoodmoulds. Above these are three similar windows. The left return gables incorporate bay windows, each topped by a mullioned sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
