Description

This coach house, located within Well Vale Park, was originally built around 1733 and altered in the 19th century. Constructed of red brick in English bond, it was originally colourwashed and has a pantile roof with brick coped tumbled gables and kneelers. The building features two brick gable stacks. The two-storey, five-bay front has a plinth and deeply coved eaves. A central planked doorway, originally with a semi-circular head, is flanked by pairs of flat basket arches. The arch on the right contains a full-height planked double door, the others contain later planked doors with timber lintels, and the left-hand one is blocked and contains a three-light casement window. Five glazing bar sashes are on the first floor. A small louvre with a leaded top and a weather vane are situated on the roof.
