Description

This former brick kiln, now used as a store, dates from the mid-19th century and was extended in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brown and orange brick with pantile roofs and features a Scotch kiln design. The building is single storey with externally battered walls and has a rectangular opening to the kiln chamber, which is topped with a timber lintel. There are eight stoke holes and pent roofed stoking chambers on each side. At the opposite end, there is an arched opening. Farlesthorpe yellow bricks were commonly used in the area during the 19th century.
