Description
The entrance gates, piers, and walls to Raithby Hall were built in the late 18th century and around 1840. They are constructed from red brick, featuring ashlar and pantile copings, as well as sandstone ashlar. The central gates include pedestrian side gates and are flanked by curved walls, with a garden wall to the right. The square rusticated gate piers have plinths, plain cornices, and ball finials. There is a pair of swept cast iron gates with spear terminals, square verticals, and pierced lozenge rails. On either side, there are matching pedestrian gates with 18th-century square brick piers topped with 19th-century ball finials. The garden wall to the right has ashlar coping and ramps down from approximately 12 feet to 5 feet in height over a distance of about 50 yards.
