Description
House. Dating to the late 18th century, with extensions added in the early 19th century to the right and rear. The house is constructed of red brick on a low stone plinth, with a slate roof and brick chimneys at the ends. It is three storeys high and has three bays. A brick eaves cornice is present, featuring corbelled dentils. The windows are 3-pane sashes, square on the second floor, with painted stone sills and shaped stucco surrounds incorporating oval fan motifs. The central entrance has a flush-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight, a moulded wooden frame, and a matching shaped head. To the right is a lower extension with a 3-pane sash window on the front, and board doors leading to a stable, coach-house, and loft within the right gable end. Gable openings have segmental heads. The rear elevation features a central catslide projection with a tall stair window, a lean-to addition to the left, and a projecting wing of one storey and a loft to the right, dating to the early 19th century.
