Description

Tudor Thatch is a cottage dating from the late 16th century. It has a roughcast exterior that hides a timber frame, although some parts are visible, including the wall plate and ends of cross-ceiling beams. The cottage features a brick plinth and a thatched roof. It is 1½ storeys high and consists of a range of two bays on the left side, with a doorway that once had a porch (which was removed during rethatching) and dormer windows above. To the left, there is an additional bay that contains two triple-light casements and is distinguished by an irregularity in the front wall, although the wall plate remains continuous. The building has a gable and an axial stack that backs onto the entry. Inside, cruck construction can still be seen.
