Description
Callow Carr Farm and stables is a farmhouse and stables built in 1790, with later alterations. The building is constructed from squared coursed gritstone with flush dressings and features a plain tile roof. It has brick gable end and ridge stacks and is two storeys high with a double front.
On the front, there are 2-light flush mullion windows on either side of a 20th-century projecting porch, with two similar windows above. All windows are fitted with leaded casements and there is a projecting eaves band. An adjoining barn has a door and ventilation holes on the ground floor, with a 2-light mullion window above. The south end features a stone-coped gable and kneelers.
Attached to the southeast end is a low cattleshed, which has two doors and three bee hollows set into the walls. At the rear, there is a lower two-storey wing that retains the remains of two chamfered mullion windows, along with a door that has a dated lintel reading 'DG 1790'.
