Description

This lodge was built in 1893 by Douglas and Fordham of Chester, as part of Brocksford Hall. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone dressings and timber framing, with a plain tile roof and massive panelled brick ridge stacks. The asymmetrical design features an east elevation with two bays. The left-hand side has a broad gable. The ground floor is brick and includes a canted bay window with a 1-3-1 light arrangement, set within a recessed and chamfered stone surround. The upper floor juts out and is timber framed, incorporating two 2-light wooden casement windows. A single-storey porch bay sits to the right, with a hipped roof and a 20th-century half-glazed door.
