Description
Grove Farmhouse is a building from the 18th to early 19th century located on Chesterfield Road in Brimington. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features quoins, an eaves cornice, and a blocking course. The slate roof has end brick chimneys. The facade is symmetrical with two storeys and three sash windows that have glazing bars and engraved lintels. The central door is set within a stone porch supported by two pillars, topped with a flat hood that has a cornice and blocking course. The door itself is a six-panelled design with a round arched traceried fanlight above. To the northwest, there is a section of the building with a crenellated facade, and the northern lower part contains at least one full height cruck truss. The rear centre door of the house features a pulvinated frieze and architrave.
