Description
This is a barn located opposite the junction with The Inhams, dating from the 17th century with an 18th-century bay at the southern end. The 17th-century section is constructed of banded ironstone and limestone rubble, featuring large quoins, while the 18th-century bay is made of ironstone rubble with a limestone plinth and has a coped gable. The roof is covered with Welsh slate.
The two 17th-century bays include a board door with a 19th to 20th-century brick arch on the road side, and there is a former cart entry on the opposite side, which now provides access to a 20th-century concrete block shed with a corrugated iron roof and shoots to grain bins; this shed is not considered of special interest. The original northern gable end has two rows of small triangular openings and a high vent slit. The 18th-century bay is open on the eastern side and features a small loft door in the southern gable. The 17th-century part retains its original tie-beam and collar trusses. The barn is situated next to the site of a former manor house.
