Description

This is a cottage, originally built as a school in 1847. It is constructed of roughly-shaped stone laid in courses, with prominent quoins (cornerstones) and a roof of Welsh slate. The gables have stone cornices and kneelers. The roof is finished with end stacks made of stone and buff brick. The front has two dormers, set low under the eaves. There are two three-light windows on the front, with painted mullions (vertical bars) dividing the lights, rounded arches above each light, and a hood mould above the windows. The windows have stone sills. A stone tablet on the left-hand side wall reads: "This school was built A.D. MDCCCXLVII by subscription aided by the National Society." A rear entrance is present.
