Description
Went Bridge is a public road bridge that spans the River Went, likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from rock-faced magnesian limestone and sandstone ashlar. The bridge features two low segmental arches, which are supported by rock-faced rusticated voussoirs. Between the arches, there is a convex cutwater and a broad tapering pilaster. Above the water, there is a slightly raised band of sandstone ashlar, and the parapet is made of similar material, featuring rounded coping and rectangular terminals.
