Description
Springstone House is a large house built in the mid-19th century, with wings added in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features a symmetrical three-bay facade, with slightly projecting single-storey wings on each side.
At the center, there is a pedimented portico supported by fluted Tuscan columns and backing pilasters, along with a decorative frieze. The entrance includes a four-panel, part-glazed door with a fanlight above. The ground floor has 12-pane sash windows, while the first floor has 12-pane casements, with the central window featuring an architrave and cornice. The facade is accented with sill bands, a moulded eaves cornice, and a blocking course. The roof is hipped, with lateral brick stacks. Each wing has a hipped roof and features a tripartite bow window. The left side of the building has a doorway with a panelled doorcase. At the rear, there is a round-arched stair window with glazing bars, which has been renewed, and the building has twin hipped roofs. The interior has not been inspected.
