Description
The gates, gate piers, and flanking walls at the lodge to Weetwood Hall were built in 1887 for Alfred Cooke. They are constructed from coursed squared gritstone and ashlar, featuring wrought-iron double gates adorned with ornate scrolls and wavy dog bars. The gate piers are approximately 2 meters high, octagonal in shape, and include carved details such as an 'AC' monogram and a crenellated design on the capstones. The lower curved flanking walls have a plinth, stepped ridged coping, and raised panels with quatrefoil recesses, which screen the front of the house and extend to plain walling on the right. The interior has not been inspected. This structure is included for its group value.
