Description
This listing describes a group of four memorials located approximately 3 metres north of the east end of Woodhouse Cemetery Chapel in Leeds. The memorials date from between 1837 and 1894 and feature finely carved lettering and figures. They commemorate William Styan, who died in 1837; Clara Sladen and her family, who are represented with flanking columns and angels in a broken style, dated 1870; William Taylor, who died in 1873, with carvings that include a fishing basket, birds, fish, and a riverbank scene; and John Holmes, who lived from 1780 to 1843, along with his family, depicted in a Norman arch.
