Description

Cathedral Court, formerly known as the Masonic Hall, is a building located on Great George Street in Leeds. It was constructed in 1900 by architect John Mitchell Bottomley and has been restored in 1991 for use as offices. The building features a red brick ground floor with yellow brick above, complemented by stone dressings. It has a steep-pitched slate hipped roof with a modillion eaves cornice, and a bell turret at the center along with a central pedimented gable. The structure is two storeys high with a basement and attic, arranged in five by two bays. The entrance is a moulded segmental arch located at the center, flanked by round-arched windows that have keyblocks and a moulded string course above. On the first floor, tall round-arched recesses contain pedimented windows, with the central window featuring carved arms in the tympanum and a shallow bowed balustraded balcony. The interior has not been inspected.
