Description
Otley Congregational Church and Sunday School was built in 1899 by T H and F Healy of Bradford and is designed in a style reminiscent of Gothic architecture from around 1300. The church features a lofty nave with low aisles, showcasing fine masonry work and ashlar detailing. At the northwest corner, there is a tower topped with an octagonal openwork spired lantern. The large west window is adorned with decorated tracery, and the nave gable is flanked by buttresses that are surmounted by pinnacles. The aisles have paired two-light cusped windows, and the clerestory includes reticulated tracery. The church also has twin gabled transepts and a two-bay chancel with a large east window. The Sunday School, set back from the church, is a simpler version of the same Gothic style. The building is well-positioned near the bridge.
