Description
This is a terrace of three houses, now part of the University of Leeds Department of Applied Biology, built in 1825 by J.S. Morrish for Julia Lyddon. The structure is made of brick in Flemish bond with stone details and features a slate mansard roof. It stands three storeys high, with attics and a basement, and has nine first-floor windows. The doorways located below windows three and nine have semicircular fanlights, pilasters, and entablatures. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, some of which have been restored, and are topped with flat brick arches and stone sills, with a sill band on the first floor. The gables and party walls have coping that rises through the roof, and there are narrow multi-flue stacks. The third entrance, which corresponds to window six, has been converted into a window. The interior has not been inspected. Originally named Preston Place, this terrace was one of the first built in the area.
