Description
Gate lodge to Temple Mill, built in 1843 by Ignatius Bonomi for John Marshall and Company's flax mill, is a Grade II* listed building. Constructed from ashlar stone, it features an Egyptian style that complements the nearby Temple Mill to the south. The lodge is a low rectangular single-cell structure with a blocked entrance on the east side, which faces the road. It has heavy moulding at the corners and eaves, although the deep coving on the north side is damaged. The building has a flat roof and includes a short linking wall leading to a pylon-type shaft with recessed panels on the west side. The interior has not been inspected.
