Description

This early to mid-19th century terrace, consisting of numbers 10, 12, and 14 Huddersfield Road in Holmfirth, originally included underdwellings. Built with hammer-dressed stone, the roof is covered in stone slate and features moulded stone brackets supporting the gutter. A large central stone stack is a prominent feature. The front elevation was altered in the mid-19th century. The left-hand side now has a 20th-century shop frontage, with two single sash windows above. The property to the right has two doorways and a single sash window at ground level, with two single sashes above. The rear elevation is symmetrical, with each dwelling accessed via a near-central doorway, accompanied by a three-light window on one side and a single light window on the other. First floor windows are single nine-light windows, with lights blocked at either end on the left-hand side and three centre lights blocked on the right. Second floor windows consist of one three-light and one single light window. At the third floor level, there is one nine-light stone mullioned window on each dwelling, with some lights blocked. Continuous sill bands run along the first and third floors.
