Description
Brantwood, now Nos 20 and 24 Kaffir Road, is a mid-19th century house constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a pitched slate roof. The building features elaborately bargeboarded gables and eaves. It is two storeys and has attics. The windows are largely tripartite and bipartite trefoil-headed sashes, some set within raised ashlar frames. Two canted two-storey bays are present, distinguished by crenellated battering between the floors and hipped stone roofs. Two gabled porches, also bargeboarded, provide access and incorporate trefoiled arches supported by columns with elaborate foliate capitals. The doors are complemented by trefoil fanlights.
