Description
Cold Hill is a building dating from 1708, located on Cold Hill Lane in Berry Brow. The structure is made of hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof. It has two storeys and displays four 2-light stone mullioned windows and two 3-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes one 4-light, one 3-light, and one 3-plus-3-light stone mullioned window, all with chamfered mullions. Number 7 has a flat-arched lintel with "H 1708" inscribed on it.
Inside, the building features chamfered beams with moulded stops, ledged doors with iron hatches and hinges. There is a two-storey wing to the north and a lean-to outshut along the rear. An adjacent barn to the north-west is also constructed of hammer-dressed stone and has a pitched stone slate roof, with various planked openings. The settlement at Cold Hill is noted on Senior's Map of Almondbury Parish from 1634.
