Description

49 and 51 Thornhill Road are a pair of 18th-century buildings. They are rendered with hammer-dressed stone detailing and have a pitched stone slate roof, with a catslide to the rear. The buildings are two storeys high. The first floor has a variety of windows: one four-light stone mullioned sash, one casement window, one two-light stone mullioned sash, one four-light stone mullioned sash, and two two-light stone mullioned sashes, all set in recessed frames. The ground floor features a door with three moulded panels, two four-light stone mullioned sashes, two doors with three moulded panels, and one four-light stone mullioned sash; a mullion was removed from this final sash in the 19th century. An outshut extends to the east, featuring a lean-to roof and a planked door. Two windows are blocked on the first floor to the rear.
