Description
The bridge over the River Calder, built around 1800, is a Grade II listed structure located on Canal Road in Sowerby Bridge. It is constructed from coursed squared stone and features three segmental arches, with the southern arch being narrower as it rises to higher ground at the north end. There is a triangular cut-water situated between the two northern arches, along with pilaster buttresses positioned between the arches and at the south end on the east side. The bridge also has a decorative band and triangular-section coping that rises over the buttresses.
