Description
Slackfield, also known as Springfield, is a farmhouse with an attached barn, built in 1780. The structure is made of coursed stone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof, two ashlar stacks, and raised coped gables. The eaves are dentilated. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a central doorway with a glazed door and a flush ashlar surround. To the right of the doorway is a three-light flush mullion window, and to the left is a two-light flush mullion window. Above the central doorway, there are three two-light flush mullion windows. The barn, which is set back to the right of the farmhouse, has a large segment-headed cart entrance with a raised keystone and impost blocks, along with double plank doors. Above the cart entrance, there is a small Venetian window with plain sashes.
