Description
Rose Cottage is likely a 17th-century house that has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built with ruled cement render and has a 20th-century pantile roof. The house is two storeys high with four windows on the first floor. A chamfered, quoined doorway is on the left-hand side and has a lintel carved with a shield bearing the Cooke-Yarborough arms. Flanking the doorway are two two-light, horizontally-sliding sash windows with glazing bars, recessed beneath segmental arches. A matching window is set higher on the right-hand side. Above the door is a small window within a recessed, segmentally-arched panel, flanked by horizontally-sliding sashes with segmentally-arched heads; a matching square-headed window is on the right. The eaves overhang, with brick end stacks and a ridge stack to the right.
