Description
This building, known as No. 15 Bishophill Senior, is a house that has been converted into part of a hotel. It dates from around 1800 and was originally built for John Tuke. The structure is made of pink-blue brick laid in Flemish bond, featuring a painted stone doorcase. It has a timber eaves band with a cornice supported by shaped console brackets, and stone copings on a slate roof.
The exterior is three stories high with a two-window front. To the right of the center, there is a plain pilaster and cornice doorcase that holds an early 18th-century three-panel door. The windows are sash style, with 12 panes on the right side of the ground and first floors, and 16 panes on the left. On the second floor, the windows are shorter and have 9 panes. All windows have painted stone sills and flat arches made of gauged brick. The interior has not been inspected.
