Description
46 Goodramgate is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and underwent alterations in the mid-19th century, with further changes and a shopfront added in the 20th century. The front is made of painted brick in Flemish bond, while the right side is rendered. The building features a pantile roof with an external brick chimney.
The exterior has three storeys and one window on the front. The shopfront includes a plate glass door situated between canted windows. On the first floor, there is a shallow canted bay window with one-pane sash windows beneath a dentilled cornice. The second-floor window is tripartite, featuring three one-pane sashes with painted sills. The string course on the first floor is interrupted by the bay window.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, the building was recorded as The Gardeners' Arms in 1851. It is included for its group value as an important part of Goodramgate.
