Description

Beck Farmhouse and the adjoining barn at the rear were built in 1802, as indicated by an inscription on a tie beam in the barn. The farmhouse is constructed of brick in Flemish bond on the front and has concrete tile roofs. The building has an L-shaped plan, featuring a three-room front with an entrance hall to the left and the barn at the rear. It is two storeys high with four bays, displaying a three-bay symmetrical front and a single bay set back to the right.

The entrance features a doorcase with channelled pilasters and fluted brackets that support a plain entablature and a shallow hood. It includes a six-panel door with a plain overlight set in a panelled reveal. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in reveals with channelled and keyed stucco cambered arches and projecting cills, with a narrower 12-pane sash located above the entrance. The eaves board is plain wood, and the hipped roof has later rebuilt axial stacks. The returns of the farmhouse have similar sashes and blind dummy window panels.

The barn at the rear is also two storeys high and consists of four internal bays. It features a wide 20th-century sliding door that replaces the original cart entrance, with two blocked ventilator slits on either side. Additionally, there are three rectangular hatches and seven slits above, along with a stepped and cogged brick eaves cornice and a brick-coped, tumbled gable on the right.
