Description
Nos. 36 and 38 on High Street are 18th-century buildings that stand two storeys tall, constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof and a diagonal set brick eaves cornice. The buildings feature two windows with wooden frames and no glazing bars. The ground floor of No. 38 has a window with hung sashes that includes glazing bars. The entrance door is made up of four panels. No. 36 has a small shop front that includes pilasters, a dentil cornice, and an entablature, along with a six-panel fielded door. To the right, there is a segmental-headed passage entry with a four-panel door. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos. 32 to 44 (even), 64-70 (even), and the Red Lion Public House, with Nos. 68, 70, and the Red Lion being of local interest only.
