Description

Churchfield Manor is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a later lowered roof and alterations along with rear additions made around 1970. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof. The building has a rectangular shape with three rooms and an entrance hall, and it likely originally included a rear wing.

The house is two storeys high and has four bays. It has a tall plinth, and the entrance located in the second bay features a 20th-century glazed door and doorcase beneath an original segmental stretcher arch. To the left of the entrance is a single window, and to the right are two windows, all fitted with 20th-century sliding sashes that have glazing bars and are set beneath infilled brick panels with similar segmental stretcher arches.

A three-course brick band runs along the first floor, interrupted by similar 20th-century first-floor windows that have lintels at the eaves level. The eaves are stepped, and there are stacks at both ends of the building. The left side of the house has a large central blocked window with a matching arch and a blocked square-headed opening on the first floor. The right side features a 20th-century ground-floor casement window and a narrow blocked opening beneath a segmental stretcher arch, along with a 20th-century attic casement window. A 20th-century extension at the rear is noted as being of no special interest.
