Description
Etherington House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid-18th century, with a mid-19th century addition and alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick, featuring a rendered rear wing, and has pantile and slate roofs with three gable stacks. It has a moulded eaves band and coped gables with kneelers. The house is two storeys high, plus garrets, and has a five-window range of 12-pane sashes. The central flat-roofed porch has a glazed door and overlight, and is flanked by canted wooden bay windows, all of which are from the mid-20th century. On the right side, there is a 6-pane casement window in the garret and below it, a glazed door that is flanked to the right by a hipped porch, forming an L-plan.
