Description
This garden statue, located approximately 15 metres south of Burton Agnes Hall, is likely from the mid-18th century. It features an ashlar plinth that is square in shape, with a moulded base, panelled sides, and a cornice, standing about one metre tall. The statue depicts a boy dressed as a peasant, standing with his legs crossed and holding a shepherd's crook, wearing breeches, a shirt, a coat, and a hat. The entire statue is approximately 2.25 metres high. It is part of a group of 18th-century statues in the garden.
