Description
The Black Lion Public House is an 18th-century building located on High Street. It has an L-shaped design and stands two storeys tall, with a rendered exterior and a Welsh slate roof. The main block features two windows with two lights, set in stone surrounds, and hung sashes with glazing bars. There is one similar window on the ground floor, along with a three-light canted bay window to the left, also with hung sashes and glazing bars. A modern brick porch has been added. The right-hand wing contains one single window above another window, both with hung sashes and glazing bars. The gable end has one window on each storey, with plain surrounds and hung sashes with glazing bars, plus a canted bay window on the ground floor. The Black Lion Public House is part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 35 (odd), 35A, 37 to 69 (odd), and 73 to 93 (odd), with Nos 37 to 41 (odd) noted for local interest.
