Description
Nos 73 and 75 on Walkergate are 18th-century buildings that stand two storeys tall, constructed of brick and topped with a new pantile roof. The facade features two modern dormers and a moulded wood eaves cornice. There are five windows in total, including one that is blocked on both storeys. The windows of No 73 have glazing bars, and both buildings display painted brick voussoirs. The entrance to No 73 has a door with six fielded panels, two of which are glazed, and a four-pane fanlight above it, all framed by a rendered lintel and wood case. No 75 has a wood case surrounding its modern door, also with painted brick voussoirs. The gable end of the building shows tumbled brickwork. Inside No 73, there is a late 18th-century staircase featuring a closed string and slender columnar newels.
