Description
Chalk Villa is a house built around 1800, constructed from chalk blocks that are rendered and colour-washed, topped with a graduated slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a symmetrical elevation with three bays. The left and right bays rise as round bows that extend the full height of the house. The entrance consists of a six-panel door beneath a fanlight with radial glazing bars, flanked on both sides by 16-pane sash windows with sills. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window above the door, flanked by similar 16-pane sashes. The roof is hipped, and there are twin axial stacks. Inside, there is an early 19th-century open string staircase with spindle balusters. Additionally, there is an original doorcase, flanked by panelled cupboards, leading to the right room.
