Description

Painters Cottages, located on the west side of Souttergate, are a group of three 18th-century former almshouses. They are constructed of colour-washed brick and feature a pitched pantile roof. The cottages are single-storey and have three windows with glazing bars, along with three doors, each having four moulded panels. A plaque on the building states, "Founded by George Painter 1562." The cottages were established through the will of George Painter, a priest from Hull.
