Description

The George Public House is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of Prince Street. It stands three storeys tall and is rendered with a Welsh slate roof featuring a moulded eaves cornice. The building has rusticated quoins and two windows without glazing bars. There are two two-storey canted bays, also without glazing bars, and a long blank centre panel above the doorway. The doorway is flanked by carved wooden pilasters and has an entablature and cornice, with panelled reveals and a door made up of six fielded panels. Access to the entrance is via three steps, and the building has a plinth and a foot scraper. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends.
