Description
Warter Farmhouse is a house that likely dates from the early 17th century, with a mid-19th century parallel range and remodelled in the 20th century. The earlier work features ashlar stone, while the later parts are built of brick, all topped with pantiled roofs. The gable elevation of the original house remains, standing at two storeys. On the ground floor, there is a three-light square-headed window with mullions and a transom, which is set beneath a stopped dripmould. The first floor has similar windows, but with four narrower lights. The gable is shaped and features a pediment and acroteria. To the right, there is a single-storey range that includes a two-light square-headed window also under a stopped dripmould. The farmhouse is incorrectly labelled as Southwold House on the Ordnance Survey map.
