Description
Garrowby Lodge is a house built in the late 18th century, featuring extensions and additions on both the right and left sides. The structure is made of brick that has been colour-washed, topped with pantiled roofs. The original house is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a two-storey, three-bay extension on the right and a two-storey, two-bay extension on the left.
The central entrance has a six-panel door with a fanlight that includes radial glazing, set within a segmental-headed opening. This door is flanked by 16-pane sash windows on both sides. On the first floor, above the door, there is a sash window with glazing bars and radial glazing in a round-headed opening with a sill. To the right and left, there are additional 16-pane sash windows with sills.
The right extension features a central door made up of six raised and fielded panels with an overlight that has a glazing bar, along with 16-pane sash windows elsewhere and a blank opening above the door. The left side displays a scattered arrangement of sash windows with glazing bars and 16-pane sashes. The building is adorned with a dentilled eaves cornice, raised coped gables on shaped kneelers, and has end and axial stacks.
