Description
The manure shed, located approximately 10 metres south of the cattle house at Enholmes Farm, was built in 1849 for William Marshall. The structure features brick construction with breeze-block infilling and has a pantile roof. It is rectangular in shape and aligned east-west, forming the south-west side of the farmyard. The shed is a single storey with the south side consisting of 12 bays, showcasing an arcade of recessed round arches between square piers. The north side has square piers and 20th-century infilling. The roof is hipped, and water stored in tanks below the floor was used for damping straw to create manure. There is an adjoining 20th-century range to the south, which is not of special interest. This shed is part of a large early industrial farm.
