Description
No. 2 (Half Inn House) and No. 4 The Nook is a public house that has been converted into two houses. The datestone on the left side reads "B I S/1675," but the building likely has earlier origins. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof, and the left end of the front facade features timber framing on a stone base. The building is one storey with an attic and consists of three bays, with a 20th-century extension on the right side. The third bay projects under a gable. The windows include 20th-century small-paned casements for No. 2, with first-floor windows in flat-topped dormers, while No. 4 has segmental-headed windows. The entrances were also added in the 20th century. Inside, No. 2 retains old beams and a large fireplace with a cambered bressumer on stone jambs. No. 4 features a partially exposed cruck truss. The building has two gable-end stacks. It was formerly known as the Lincoln Public House.
