Description

This is a terrace of sixteen houses, dating from the 18th century. The houses are built of brick with stone dressings, and have slate roofs. The terrace is two storeys high, with the central two houses and the end bays projecting and rising to three storeys. Each house has two bays. A sill band runs along the front, as does a top frieze and cornice; the projecting bays have blocking courses and hipped roofs. The windows have sashes in recessed reveals and segmental heads. The entrances are round-headed, with four-panel doors. Recessed bays feature rectangular bay windows. A continuous lean-to roof covers the bay windows, with a lean-to canopy above the entrances. The first bay of the terrace forms a return to No 2 Hornby Place, and is three bays wide with a central round-headed entrance.
