Description
This is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with a stone slate roof. The house has two storeys and originally three bays. The windows have chamfered stone surrounds and flush mullions; most are of four lights, with the exception of the ground-floor window in the right-hand bay, which is likely a 20th-century replacement of six lights. A single-storey porch is positioned between the first and second bays. Decorative stone gutter brackets are present. Chimneys are located on the gables, between the second and third bays, and in line with the third bay. The rear (north) elevation features four bays with similar windows, generally of two lights, except for the right-hand ground-floor window which is of four lights. A stair window with a mullion and transom, set within a plain stone surround with a semi-circular head, is situated between the third and fourth bays. A straight joint between the second and third bays suggests that the eastern bay was added later.
