Description

This cross, located approximately 8 metres east of the Church of St. Thomas and St. Elizabeth, is likely from the 19th century, although it may have been found on the site of Cockersand Abbey and re-erected at that time. It is made of limestone with a sandstone base. The base features three octagonal steps leading up to an octagonal pedestal that is socketed for the shaft. The shaft itself is also octagonal and shows significant weathering on the north side. At the top, there is a moulded cap supporting a foliated cross head.
