Description
The former cottage and barn facing Bank House Farmhouse is located in a courtyard and dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and has a slate roof. The cottage, situated at the north-east end of the barn, faces north-west towards the farmhouse and is two storeys high. It features a two-light square mullioned window and a door with a plain stone surround to its right. On the first floor, there is a window with plain reveals. The gable has a projecting stack and a one-light window with plain reveals and a wooden lintel, which is now partly blocked. The rear wall of the cottage has two small windows with plain reveals.
The barn, which has a continuous roof with the cottage, includes a small pitching hole at its left-hand end and a wide entrance further to the right, which has a curved wooden lintel and is now partly blocked, along with a narrower door. The rear wall of the barn has three windows with plain reveals, and there is a door on the first floor above the right-hand window.
