Description

BURROW-WITH-BURROW A65 SD 67 NW 2/43 Lodge to Summerfield House GV II

Lodge to Summerfield House (q.v.), probably 1840s by George Webster. Sandstone rubble with hipped slate roof. One storey with attic. North facade has one bay on each side of a central door projection and has overhanging eaves and corner pilaster strips. The central projection has a pedimented gable. The windows have chamfered stone surrounds, a central timber mullion, and leaded glazing. Their upper parts are now blank. The doorway has a chamfered stone surround. Above is a floating cornice on square corbels. Chimneys, with octagonal shafts, in centre behind ridge.
